Here's Alki's story, one of our Home Care Members

"My name is Alki, I have been working with Caring for You Home Care on a short-term assignment for over 5 years now, and I love the work on this assignment so much!

I have pre-booked shifts all the time, and that allows me to arrange my personal/family time much better as the shifts are always pre-booked weeks ahead.

It is understandable that you might feel a bit stressed or scared to commence your very first community nurse shift (if you haven’t had community experience before), but please do not let that stop you to step in!  High quality training and education are provided, this allows you to smoothly start your first shift in the community.

When you are at work, even though you are mostly driving around and providing patient care on your own, you are not alone. There is a strong team behind the scenes. I have always been supported by Caring for You and the lovely local nurses, managers, and schedulers working from the contractor I am working with. They will absolutely step in to help/support you when you need a hand.

I enjoyed my shifts from day 1, and I have learned a lot from the job, including medication management, wound care, time management, communication with different medical personnel, etc.
