Providing First Aid and CPR
We are noticing an increasing number of our clients now require current First Aid and CPR certificates. Our system is now enforcing this requirement and may restrict our members from accepting some shifts without these competencies.
**Members are welcome to book and attend our workshop or a course from another provider and email in the certificate.
CPR & Defibrillators Training -HLTAID001
In this training you will be learning on both adult and child mannequins.
This course includes:
Duty-of-care, legal limitations and considerations,
Emergency access procedures,
Chain of Survival (Inc. calling an Ambulance),
Consideration of relevant workplace hazards/issues,
Infection control principles and procedures, including use of standard precautions,
Privacy and confidentiality requirements,
Management of an Unconscious Patient & Recovery Position,
RSABCD & CPR on an adult, child and baby, including the use of a defibrillator (AED) on an adult and child.
Provide First Aid Training - HLTAID003
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to health staff working within a care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
This course includes but is not limited to:
Responded to at least three simulated first aid scenarios contextualised to the workplace/community setting, and involving infants and children of varying ages,
Follow DRSABCD in line with ARC guidelines,
Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult, child and infant manikin placed on the floor and complete a theory assessment.
