Palliative Care Workshop Victoria

Palliative Care - An Empathetic Approach Workshop
presented by Bolton Clarke facilitator Michelle Clancy RN

The WHO states that Palliative Care:

  • Offers a support system to help patients live as actively as possible until death
  • Will enhance quality of life and may also positively influence the course of the illness
  • Is applicable early in the course of illness

This course explores what a Palliative Approach means, who it is for and when it should begin. We look at who we are as a nation and what impact the changing face of Australia has on the individuals we care for and our health services in relation to palliative care services.

Join us in broadening your knowledge and understanding of:

  • The psychological aspects of palliative care, including loss and grief
  • How advanced care planning can assist to respect a person's dignity and prevent suffering
  • How we might best respond to "difficult" questions in the pursuit of a truly holistic approach to care
